Objective
This study focusing on the issue of bullying in schools aimed to understand families’ experiences. The goal was to gather honest and precise accounts on a sensitive topic that is often difficult to put into words.

Understanding the parenting experience
More than 80 parents of children victims of school bullying were interviewed during semi-structured interviews conducted by conversational AI, Episto AI Chat. The system adapted its follow-up questions based on the answers received, in accordance with the methodological framework.
Deep-dive into the heart of family experiences
This analysis highlighted the diversity of situations experienced by parents of child victims. It shed light on the impact on family life, relations with the school, expectations expressed, and associated emotional tensions.
Understanding emotional intensity
The study provided a more open and intimate window into parents’ perspectives. By minimizing social desirability bias, the study design encouraged the expression of emotions and shed light on the consequences of bullying for the child and their close relations.
Rethinking the scale of qualitative research
The large number of interviews made it possible to map the diversity of family journeys and to objectively analyze certain life experiences. This hybrid approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods, thus strengthened the analysis of sensitive social phenomena.
