With two weeks to go before the first round of municipal elections, Ifop-Fiducial conducted a survey for La Nouvelle République and Sud Radio on the electoral climate in Poitiers.

In the first round, the municipal majority list led by Léonore Moncond’huy would come out on top with 26% of voting intentions. It would overtake the divers gauche list led by Anthony Brottier (21%), followed by the list led by Bertrand Geay (15%). The lists led by François Blanchard and Charles Rangheard would both achieve 11%, while the list led by Lucile Parnaudeau would garner 10%. Finally, the lists led by Ludovic Gaillard, Marie-Dolorès Prost and Abdelmajid Amzil would each be credited with 2% of voting intentions.

In terms of certainty of choice, almost a third of voters (33%) said they could still change their mind, compared with 67% who said they were sure of their vote.

In the event of a five-way second round, the list led by Léonore Moncond’huy, supported by LFI, would come out well ahead with 40% of voting intentions. She would overtake the divers gauche list led by Anthony Brottier, credited with 25%, while the Socialist list led by François Blanchard would reach 13%. The list led by Lucile Parnaudeau would garner 10%, and that led by Charles Rangheard 12%.

In the event of a triangular second round, the balance of power would be much tighter. The list led by Léonore Moncond’huy, supported by LFI, would achieve 44% of voting intentions, against 42% for a list led by Anthony Brottier and supported by François Blanchard. The list led by Charles Rangheard would reach 14%. This configuration would reflect a particularly tight duel between the outgoing majority and a united left-wing alternative.
