Ten years after the attacks of November 13, 2015, what memory remains of this national tragedy? How can we grasp the persistence of remembrance, citizens’ relationship with the places affected, the importance attached to commemorations and the lasting impact of these events on lifestyles? To answer these questions, the Fondation Jean-Jaurès, in partnership with Ifop, La Bellevilloise and the Théâtre de la Concorde, has published a ground-breaking survey of French people and Parisians, highlighting a “living memory” that is particularly deeply rooted in Paris.

Jérémie Peltier, co-CEO of the Foundation, analyses the results, highlighting the extent to which this collective trauma continues to shape our relationship with time, the city and resilience:

Fabrice Février, co-director of the Foundation’s Media Observatory, analyzes a number of the survey’s findings and tells the story of a shared memory: that of a youth thrown into the consciousness of reality.
