Ifop for LCI asked the French how they view the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and France’s preparedness for war.
On the one hand, 62% now consider Russia to be an enemy of France, with wide variations according to party affiliation. Hostility towards Moscow reaches 88% among PS supporters, 80% among Renaissance, 76% among LR and 75% among Ecologists, compared with 54% among LFI and 51% among RN.
Furthermore, 58% believe that open war could arise between France and another country in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and 55% in connection with the international geopolitical situation.
Finally, in the event of an extended conflict, 60% of French people say they trust the French army to defend their country.
