For its first barometer conducted for L’Opinion, Ifop has published the results of the popularity ratings of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister for the month of January 2026.
On the one hand, Emmanuel Macron gained two points compared with the previous month, to climb back above the 20% satisfaction mark. His popularity thus rose from 17% to 23% between the two January waves. A positive trend for the Head of State, with a total gain of four points in two months.
On the other hand, Sébastien Lecornu recorded a two-point drop in popularity compared to the previous month, now standing at 34%, a level equivalent to November 2025. This decline is mainly due to the drop in satisfaction among Rassemblement National voters, with whom he loses 14 points compared to December 2025.
