The study highlights a widely held view: access to healthcare is now one of the main concerns of residents in the Centre Manche region, due to concrete difficulties that now affect a majority of the population.

Appointments with specialists appear to be the main source of strain, with direct consequences for the course of care, ranging from postponing appointments to forgoing care altogether, or even resorting to self-medication.

In this context, residents are calling for a sustainable expansion of local medical services, based on an increase in the number of doctors, medical facilities, and hospital services.
