Against a backdrop of government instability, following the resignation and renomination of Sébastien Lecornu, Ifop, in partnership with JDD, publishes the results for October of its barometer on the popularity of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic broke all records for unpopularity: 16%, down 2 points on last September. In detail, he appears particularly unpopular among the unemployed (89%, +8 points), supporters of the Rassemblement national (97%, +2 points) and sympathizers of La France insoumise (91%, +9 points). Among his 2022 voters, less than half are satisfied with his actions (46%).
As for the newly-appointed Prime Minister, his popularity is down (38%), 2 points less than in September 2025. The Prime Minister is particularly unpopular with French people close to the RN (79%, +11 points). Unlike Emmanuel Macron, Sébastien Lecornu still enjoys the support of a large majority of Emmanuel Macron voters in 2022, with 73% declaring themselves satisfied with his action.
