The day after Marine Le Pen announced her candidacy for the 2027 presidential election, Ifop-Fiducial, on behalf of Sud Radio, surveyed the French public about their perception of her.

First and foremost, Marine Le Pen is widely perceived as belonging to the far right—a characteristic associated with her by 76% of the French public. She is also associated with authority (69%) and courage (62%). A majority also believes that she understands the concerns of the French people and that she has a vision for the country—55% in both cases.

Her image has strengthened over the long term, particularly regarding her presidential stature, which has risen from 30% in 2015 to 46% today, although this figure is down slightly compared to 2025. The results, however, paint a mixed picture: 50% of the French public considers her competent and committed to democratic values, while 52% say she worries them. Her ability to bring people together is recognized by 45% of respondents, and honesty remains the trait least associated with her personality, at 37%.
