The IVC (Institut pour la ville et le commerce) and Ifop Opinion are pleased to invite you to a morning of reflection and debate on an issue that is now central to our regions: the increase in commercial vacancy and, more broadly, the emergence of a “France of unoccupied town centers”, with vacant shops, abandoned offices and spaces awaiting new uses.
Morning program
- What do data from the field tell us today about the real state of city centers?
- Are we at a turning point in the way we live, work and consume in these areas?
- Should we always be trying to fill the gaps?
- And above all, what possibilities can we invent, beyond solutions that have become necessary but often not sustainable or easily reproducible?
On this occasion, IVC will be presenting previously unpublished field data, the result of detailed observation of retail centers and their uses, illuminated by exclusive data on public perceptions, expectations and projections of these realities.
These results will be put into perspective by Jérôme Fourquet, Ifop Opinion Director and territorial specialist, in order to shed light on the deep-rooted societal issues and better understand the transformations at work in contemporary France.
The morning will continue with a stakeholder round table, bringing together players with complementary perspectives, who will discuss possible avenues: alternative ways of thinking about uses, new ways of making the most of empty spaces, trade-offs to be made…
Discussions will be led by :
- Fabienne Gomant, Deputy Director of Ifop Opinion & President of IVC
- Pascal Madry, IVC General Manager
