After more than a week of bombing raids in the Middle East, Ifop for LCI asked the French how they view the conflict in Iran. The results show a high level of concern about the Iranian regime: 85% of French people agree with the statement that the Mollahs’ Iranian regime worries them. A majority everywhere, this proportion is even higher among supporters of Renaissance (95%) and Les Républicains (98%), while it is significantly lower among those of La France insoumise (56%).

On the whole, the French fear that the conflict will spread: 85% fear that it will spread throughout the Middle East, 60% that it will affect Europe and 54% that it will take on a global dimension.

However, despite these concerns, the French do not want France to become directly involved in the conflict. Only a quarter of French people are in favor of working alongside the United States and Israel by delivering weapons and combat equipment, and 18% support the idea of sending strikes on Iranian soil against the Mollahs’ regime.
