After years of trusting the food industry, the French are regaining control over the content of their plates. Better informed and more demanding, they rely on tools like Yuka to
decipher the composition of the products they consume.
Eight years after its launch, the application has become a real lever for citizen action. According to an Ifop survey of 200 industry professionals, 78% of manufacturers acknowledge that their Yuka score influences the formulation of their products, and 41% even state that they systematically take the Yuka score into account in their formulation processes. Among manufacturers using additives perceived to be risky in most or some of their products, 82% say they take the Yuka score into account when formulating their products, 63% of them systematically. The use of the Yuka score in formulation processes confirms the central role now played by the application in the transformation of food industry practices.
