Against the backdrop of energy crises, the measures implemented by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) in the wake of the 2022–2023 crisis—such as improving the clarity and transparency of electricity and natural gas offers, monitoring their consistency, and implementing prudential regulation—appear to be bearing fruit.
As a result, 50% of French people now believe that electricity and gas plans are clear enough to allow them to choose one, an increase of 9 points compared to last year.
Fifty percent also say they feel well-informed enough to choose their electricity or gas contract with confidence, a 7-point increase¹.
While these results will need to be confirmed over time, they reflect improved market transparency and a more positive relationship between consumers and their energy providers.
