Ifop conducted a poll for Club Perspectives Alsaciennes, Initiative Citoyenne Alsacienne and Mouvement pour l’Alsace, asking Alsatians how they would vote in the event of a referendum in Alsace.

The majority of Alsatians are in favor of the creation of a new Alsace region outside the Grand Est (70%). In the event of such a referendum being held, 72% would vote in favor. In more detail, there is a divide according to vote in the 2022 presidential election: among Marine Le Pen voters, this rate rises to 78%, a gap of 17 points with Jean-Luc Mélenchon voters (61%).

Among those who would like to see a referendum, 42% would like it to take place before the municipal elections in March 2026. Among “yes” voters, 44% were in favor of this timing, compared to 25% of “no” voters. It should also be noted that 23% of residents would like the referendum to be held after the 2026 municipal elections, a figure that rises to 40% among “no” voters (versus 18% among “yes” voters).
