To coincide with the Régions de France congress, Ifop conducted a survey for La Tribune Dimanche and CCI France on how the French see their regions.nnEight out of ten French people say they are attached to their region. Brittany (93%), Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (91%) and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (88%) top the list, ahead of Île-de-France (70%) and Centre-Val de Loire (65%).nnThis attachment is accompanied by a rather optimistic assessment of the economic situation: 60% of French people believe that their region is “expanding”. Brittany (85%), Pays de la Loire (73%) and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (70%) are the regions most often judged by their inhabitants to be “expanding”, reinforcing the idea that decisions taken at regional level are effective.nnOpinions on the actions of regional presidents are similar: on average, 58% of residents say they are satisfied. Brittany (78%) and Normandy (67%) are satisfied with their regional presidents, while Île-de-France (50%) and Grand Est (53%) are more divided.nnTerritorial differences confirm the logic of proximity. In the provinces, the indicators are higher than in Île-de-France: attachment (82% vs. 70%), perception of expansion (61% vs. 55%) and satisfaction with action (61% vs. 50%).
