How the French view Nicolas Sarkozy’s possible return to politics

Ifop for L’Opinion asked French people about the possibility of Nicolas Sarkozy returning to politics.nnThis prospect was rejected by a majority: 73% of French people said they did not want him to return, compared with 27% who were in favor. Support is highly polarized politically, with a peak among LR sympathizers (76% “yes”), while RN sympathizers appear divided (33% “yes”, 67% “no”). The under-35s are clearly reluctant (82% “no”), while the desire for a return is growing among the well-off (39% “yes”) and in Île-de-France (35%, versus 25% in the provinces).
