The sharp rise in absenteeism at #work in 2022 has prompted many to point the finger at a lack of employee commitment and a growing number of absenteeism due to complacency.

Without lapsing into guilt-ridden angelism, our analysis broadens and rebalances this discourse by investigating :

  • the short- and long-term causes of absenteeism ;
  • the feelings and perceptions surrounding absenteeism, whether experienced directly or observed as a witness;
  • the search for ways to curb this phenomenon and give fresh impetus to the voluntary initiatives seen just after the start of the health crisis.

To grasp the complexity of the subject, we have taken it out of the medical sphere and placed it more broadly within the ecosystem of the relationship to #work and the profound changes it is currently undergoing: new work organization, managerial culture…
