As cars become increasingly connected, they generate and collect a growing amount of data—not only about their operation but also about their drivers’ habits.
In this context, Auto Platinium, in partnership with Ifop, sought to better understand drivers’ perspectives on the data collected in their vehicles: their level of knowledge on the subject, the data they would be willing to share, the uses they consider legitimate, and the entities they would be willing to entrust with that data.
The study thus highlights the conditions that can foster acceptance of the collection and sharing of this data, including perceived usefulness, trust, and the desire to retain control over how the data is used.
