The March 2026 wave of the Ifop-Fiducial barometer for Paris Match and Sud Radio is characterized by an overall upward trend. In a ranking where only 17 personalities are either down or stable from one month to the next, progression clearly dominates. It is also notable for the return of one personality to 50% good opinion, a threshold not reached since July 2025.
Against this favorable backdrop, the leading quartet remains unchanged, even if its hierarchy has shifted slightly: Michel-Édouard Leclerc has consolidated his top position, reaching 50% of good opinion, ahead of Édouard Philippe (49%, +2), Jean-Louis Borloo (48%, +2) and Dominique de Villepin (47%, -1).
This wave was also marked by the rise of several figures from the executive branch, even though the latter has generally straddled the municipal sequence without directly exposing itself to it. Emmanuel Macron gained 4 points to 31% of good opinion, while Sébastien Lecornu rose sharply to 47% (+4) and Michel Barnier to 40% (+1). Even when some fall back slightly, such as Gabriel Attal (43%, -1) or Gérald Darmanin (40%, -1), the government bloc retains solid positions in the ranking.
On the other hand, the municipal elections have had a highly visible impact on a number of personalities directly involved in the local sequence. Édouard Philippe was one of the main beneficiaries of the period, buoyed by his re-election in Le Havre. On the right, Éric Ciotti recorded the strongest rise in the ranking with +9 points, to 38%, while Robert Ménard gained 5 points, also to 38%. Conversely, Rachida Dati fell back to 36% (-2), as did Christian Estrosi to 28% (-2). The sequence also benefits new local councillors: three new mayors enter the ranking: Catherine Trautmann (35%), Emmanuel Grégoire (32%) and Benoît Payan (29%).
On the left, François Hollande confirms his uniqueness. With 45% of favorable opinions (+3), he is not only the only active left-wing figure in the top 10, but also the one who most clearly dominates his camp. In fact, he achieves 58% good opinion among left-wing sympathizers, far ahead of the other figures in this category.
Finally, this wave confirms a surge in support for the RN and the radical right. Jordan Bardella rose to 44% (+4), Marine Le Pen to 40% (+2), Marion Maréchal to 39% (+2), and Sarah Knafo gained 5 points to reach 32%. Conversely, the rebellious figures tested in this barometer are further down the rankings: Jean-Luc Mélenchon occupies 48th place with 27% of good opinions, just ahead of Manuel Bompard, 50th with the same score.
