VVF symposium – 90 years of paid vacations: where do people stand today?

To mark the 90th anniversary of paid vacations, VVF (Villages vacances en France) is organizing its annual symposium on Friday June 5 in Paris.

This anniversary edition will look back at the evolution of the right to vacation, and examine current and future issues, in three main sequences:

• A historical review of paid vacations with geographer Rémy Knafou
• An assessment 90 years after their creation, with representatives from ANCV, Secours populaire français, Fédération Générale des PEP and Région Bretagne
• A reflection on territorial fractures and access to vacations for all, with experts in tourism and the territories
• A forward-looking round table entitled “It’s time to go on vacation again”, featuring contributions from Rémy Oudghiri and geographer Rémy Knafou, alongside Frédéric Sarrassat (CSEC RATP) and Carole Tabarot (SNCF Voyageurs).

The symposium, moderated by Jean Pinard, brings together researchers, experts and tourism professionals to discuss the same issue: understanding how the relationship with vacations is evolving in French society.
